Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey can be classed as a new Elizabethan, based on her styling. Her natural makeup mirrors the style of the Elizabethan era, with rosy cheeks and rose tinted lips teamed with long curly hair seen on Queen Elizabeth as a princess. The second image conveys a modernised Elizabethan because of the change in mood in the image. The whole image is darker. Darker materials, tight brown curls instead of golden blonde, and darker makeup instead of the natural look.
Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson can be classed as a new Elizabethan because of the power that she has over her own success. Thompson is an actress, screenwriter, author and comedian; winning many awards. Thompson won an award for her screenwriting of the British Classic, Sense and Sensibility. This shows that in a male dominant career, Thompson had the power to succeed. She also has the Elizabethan look about her, with pale skin and blushed cheeks. Thompson has also starred in the film 'Henry V' and also the film adaptation of 'Much Ado About Nothing.'
Charlotte De Carle
Charlotte De Carle is a model and TV presenter. I think that she reflects a new Elizabethan because of her style. Whenever she is pictured in the tabloids her makeup is always to the minimum and her hair is low key; probably because of the castings De Carle would have to attend in a day.
Tim Burton
I think that Tim Burton can be classed as a new Elizabethan because of that hair! Imagine a collar around his neck and he could pass as Robert Dudley; Queen Elizabeth I love interest.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence could also be classed as a new Elizabethan because she refuses to change to fit into the ideal, much like Queen Elizabeth. Lawrence has refused to lose weight in order to make other people happy, showing that she is all about women empowerment and not wanting to change her image to prove herself to anybody. Lawrence has also recently cut off her long hair and is now sporting the androgynous look, maybe to prove that she doesn't need to change her image to be taken as seriously as she already was.
